Best Medical Universities in Georgia for International Students: UG, Alte and CIU Compared

Yousif HameedJuly 22, 2026

If you are comparing the best represented medical universities in Georgia for an English-taught Medical Doctor degree, Admission.ge recommends this starting order: University of Georgia (UG), Alte University, then Caucasus International University (CIU).

This is an Admission.ge editorial recommendation for the programs we currently represent. It is not an official Georgian ranking, a guarantee of admission, or a promise that a degree will produce a medical licence in another country. “Best” here means the strongest starting order for our applicants based on program fit, the quality and completeness of the information we can maintain on Admission.ge, and our experience supporting international applications. Your final choice should also reflect your academic profile, budget and intended licensing country.

Compare UG, Alte and CIU Medicine programs

This live selection comes from Admission.ge program records. Open a program page to review its current details before applying.

This UG → Alte → CIU order is an Admission.ge editorial recommendation for the represented programs and applicants covered by this guide. It is not an official university ranking, an admission guarantee, or a professional-recognition decision.

The cards above are the current Admission.ge program records. They are the place to compare the represented program name, institution, degree level, language, duration, tuition and application details. We keep changing commercial information in the live records so this guide does not become misleading when a fee, intake or requirement changes.

1. University of Georgia — our first Medicine recommendation

UG is Admission.ge’s first editorial recommendation for this guide. The platform currently represents an English-taught, six-year, one-cycle Medicine program at the university.

We place UG first because it provides the strongest overall starting point for the applicants covered by this guide and because Admission.ge can support the applicant from program selection through document preparation and submission. That position is our professional editorial judgment—not a state ranking or a universal conclusion for every student.

Choose UG as your first comparison when you want:

  • A represented English-taught Medicine program on Admission.ge.
  • A university with a broad represented English-taught portfolio, useful when a family is comparing Medicine with other health or academic options.
  • One application route where our team can check the selected program, academic file and service steps together.

Open the live UG Medicine card above for the current tuition, program page and application details stored on Admission.ge.

2. Alte University — our second Medicine recommendation

Alte is our second editorial recommendation. Admission.ge currently represents its English-taught, six-year, one-cycle Medical Doctor program.

Alte deserves a focused comparison for applicants who want a medical-school environment within a more compact represented university portfolio. Its official program information describes English instruction and a six-year structure. Admission.ge still checks the applicant against the current program record before advising on submission; a university marketing statement is not treated as a licensing promise.

Compare Alte carefully when:

  • You want another represented English-taught Medical Doctor option.
  • The live tuition and current application route fit your plan.
  • You want Admission.ge to compare the document and timing requirements directly against UG before you decide.

3. Caucasus International University — our third Medicine recommendation

CIU is the third option in our editorial order and an additional represented English-taught Medicine program. The current Admission.ge record is a six-year, one-cycle program.

We include CIU because applicants should have a credible third program to compare rather than being pushed toward a single university. It can be the better personal fit when its live fee, timing, requirements or university environment align more closely with the applicant.

Third does not mean “poor.” It means CIU follows UG and Alte in this specific Admission.ge comparison. The applicant should use the same evidence checklist for all three.

What to compare before choosing a medical university

Do not choose a medical program from a headline or annual tuition alone. Compare:

  1. Exact qualification: confirm the official degree title in the current program record. Do not assume that “MBBS” and “MD” are interchangeable in every regulatory system.
  2. Program structure: compare the one-cycle duration, credits, curriculum stages and written clinical-training information.
  3. Admission fit: check previous education, science subjects, English evidence, interview or internal assessment, and translated-document requirements for that program.
  4. Total budget: include tuition, Admission.ge service fees, official charges, translations or legalization not included in a package, insurance, housing, travel and residence procedures.
  5. Recognition path: identify the medical regulator in the country where you intend to practise and ask what it requires from the school, program, graduation year and applicant.
  6. Timing: leave enough time for a correct university file, Georgian education-recognition steps where applicable, tuition or deposit instructions, visa preparation and travel.

Admission.ge maintains the represented program details on the platform and checks the selected record during your case review. Official sources are linked below so readers can see which Georgian bodies control institutional authorization and program accreditation.

Accreditation and international licensing: the transparent answer

In Georgia, institutional authorization and educational-program accreditation are separate quality-assurance checks. NCEQE states that authorization is obligatory for higher education institutions that carry out educational activity and issue state-recognized diplomas. Accreditation decisions for individual programs are handled separately.

For medical education, WFME currently lists Georgia’s NCEQE as an agency with Recognition Status through October 2028. That describes the accrediting agency and its process; it does not create an automatic medical licence for every graduate in every country.

A World Directory of Medical Schools listing also does not, by itself, mean recognition, accreditation or endorsement. For a United States pathway, applicants must check the current school-specific Sponsor Notes and Intealth/ECFMG requirements. Other countries apply their own regulator, examination, internship, language, document-verification and immigration rules.

Before paying a non-refundable amount, tell Admission.ge where you may want to practise. We can organize the school and program evidence available for your application and point you to the responsible regulator. The regulator—not Admission.ge or the university—decides professional eligibility.

Apply through Admission.ge with a prepared file

You do not need to assemble the university application alone. When you apply through Admission.ge, our team can:

  • Compare the represented UG, Alte and CIU Medicine records with your priorities.
  • Run an initial academic and document eligibility check for the selected program.
  • Give you the current document checklist stored for that application route.
  • Check names, dates, scans and document consistency before submission.
  • Prepare the university application and arrange included certified translations as described in your service package.
  • Support the applicable Georgian education-recognition filing and communicate requests for corrected or additional documents.
  • Submit through our university-partner process and keep you informed about the case.
  • Provide optional visa-file preparation, airport pickup and residence-card support under the selected service.

Our role is to prepare a complete, consistent file for the correct stage and reduce avoidable mistakes. The university decides admission. Georgian authorities decide recognition, visas and residence status. Foreign professional regulators decide licensing. No ethical adviser can guarantee those outcomes.

Your next step

Select the Medicine card that interests you most—or ask us to compare all three. Send a clear passport copy and your available academic documents for an initial review. We will identify missing or inconsistent items before the formal application stage and explain the Admission.ge service and official costs before you proceed.
