Program Overview
The Russian Philology Bachelor’s at TSU is administered by the Institute of Slavic Studies and is structured around a 240 ECTS-credit curriculum aligned with Georgian higher education standards. Students engage in mandatory faculty-wide coursework (50 ECTS), a major program in Russian Philology (120 ECTS), an optional minor or additional specialization (60 ECTS), plus 10 ECTS of free electives.
The curriculum emphasizes advanced Russian language proficiency, literary theory, linguistics, translation studies, and cultural immersion. Courses are delivered in Russian, and led by faculty including Professor Mariam Philina and Associate Professor Maia Tukhareli.
Graduates receive the Bachelor of Russian Philology degree, enabling careers in education, translation, international relations, publishing, and media.
