Ilia State University is a public research and comprehensive higher education institution in Tbilisi, founded in 2006 through the merger of six academic institutions. It provides education and research through the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Natural Sciences and Medicine, Business, Technology and Education, and Law.

The Faculty of Business, Technology and Education brings together the Business School, School of Technology, and School of Education. The university’s published mission centres the integration of teaching and research, general and specialised education, and locally relevant and universally accessible knowledge. International students receive admissions, enrolment, orientation, visa/residency, and continuing-support services through the International Students and Program Marketing Office. Published student services include psychological counselling, Student Affairs support, exchange guidance, library facilities, and the Argus academic-information system.
