Study Residence Permit in Georgia: Admission.ge Preparation and Support

Admission.ge Editorial TeamInvalid Date

A university admission letter, a visa, lawful entry, and a study residence permit are different documents and decisions. Students should plan them separately and use current Georgian government instructions for their nationality and legal basis of stay.

What the study residence permit is

The State Services Development Agency (SDA) states that a study residence permit is issued for studying at an authorized educational institution in Georgia. It is not issued by the university or Admission.ge. The SDA decides the application under the applicable law and evidence.

Lawful stay and application timing

The SDA says a residence-permit applicant must be staying lawfully in Georgia and generally must apply 40 calendar days before lawful stay expires, subject to the exceptions and restrictions listed on its current page. The same page describes bases of stay that may not support particular residence-permit applications. Because these rules affect eligibility, do not plan around the last available day.

Before travel, check visa and consular information through Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and GeoConsul. Admission or payment of tuition does not by itself guarantee a visa, border entry, or a residence permit.

Official document categories

The SDA’s study-permit list currently includes the approved application form, travel document, evidence of lawful stay, a certificate from an authorized educational institution confirming study and expected duration, qualifying financial evidence, an electronic color photograph, and proof of the government fee.

The authority controls the acceptable form and freshness of every item. Admission.ge rechecks the live list immediately before filing and prepares the applicant’s case-specific checklist, including the current evidence rules when a bank balance or another person’s income is used.

Fees and processing choices

The SDA publishes current processing options and fees on the official residence-permit page. These may change, so this article does not freeze the figures. Government charges are separate from Admission.ge service fees, translations, notarization, banking, insurance, housing, and any residence-card costs.

A safer preparation sequence

  • Confirm lawful entry and the remaining authorized-stay period.
  • Complete university enrollment and request the correct study certificate.
  • Receive the current SDA eligibility and document checklist from the Admission.ge case team.
  • Prepare financial evidence in the currently accepted form.
  • Resolve passport, spelling, translation, and date inconsistencies.
  • Choose a processing option with enough time for correction.
  • Keep the application reference, receipt, and submitted file.

How Admission.ge can support students

Our optional residence service can review the document set, coordinate with the university for the study certificate, organize translations and notarization where needed, help prepare the application package, explain the official submission steps, and track missing items. We can also align residence preparation with our admission, visa-document, airport pickup, and arrival services.

Admission.ge cannot extend lawful stay, waive a requirement, issue a permit, or guarantee approval. The student remains responsible for truthful documents and lawful status, and the SDA retains the final decision.

Apply through Admission.ge and let our team prepare the process

Choose a program and apply through our platform. We turn the selected university’s requirements into a clear checklist, review your file, prepare the included steps, submit through our official partner channel, and keep you informed from application to arrival.

Admission documents, prepared and checked

We prepare the university application, check documents against the selected program’s current requirements, arrange certified translation, handle the EQE recognition filing, communicate with the university, and track the application.

Visa and residence-document support

When purchased and applicable, our visa service prepares the case checklist, reviews documents before submission, explains the responsible consular procedure, follows progress, and helps answer additional-document requests. TRC support is available separately after arrival.

Arrival and ongoing student support

Optional airport pickup and TRC assistance are available. We also provide accommodation guidance, bank-account guidance, subject-registration help, and continuing support during your studies.

Our review is a professional completeness and quality check against the information available for your case. Universities and Georgian or foreign authorities make all admission, recognition, visa, residence, border-entry, and professional-licensing decisions; no outcome is guaranteed.
