Documents for Master’s and PhD Applicants in Georgia

Graduate applications require more than uploading a diploma. The correct file depends on the degree level, selected program, applicant's previous qualification, and the university's current academic assessment. Master’s and PhD applicants should therefore use a program-specific checklist rather than a generic list copied from another institution.

Identity and previous qualifications

Begin with a clear, valid passport and the qualification used for entry. A master’s applicant normally presents the relevant bachelor’s degree and its diploma supplement or official transcript. A PhD applicant normally presents the prior graduate qualification required by the selected doctoral program, together with its academic record. The university decides whether the qualification meets its entry rules.

NCEQE’s recognition service verifies the authenticity of foreign educational documents and establishes compatibility with qualifications or learning outcomes in Georgia. Foreign-language documents submitted to that service are subject to Georgian translation and notarization under the official guidance.

Academic and language evidence

Universities may request a CV, motivation statement, recommendation letters, language certificate, interview, portfolio, writing sample, entrance assessment, or proof of relevant experience. These are not universal requirements. Confirm the exact program, instruction language, accepted evidence, format, and deadline before ordering tests or translations.

Additional PhD material

Doctoral applications can require a research proposal, proposed topic, supervisor or faculty match, publications, research experience, or an interview with an academic committee. Requirements differ significantly by university and discipline. A supervisor’s informal interest is not the same as formal admission, and Admission.ge should not promise supervision before the university confirms it.

Recognition and enrollment steps

Applicants educated abroad may need a recognition decision and the applicable Georgian enrollment process in addition to the university’s academic assessment. Admission.ge checks the current NCEQE route for each eligible master’s applicant and confirms the applicable doctoral procedure with the selected university and competent authority as part of the case workflow.
